Microsoft Unveils Surface Tablet

Microsoft unveiled the Surface Table, a direct competitor to Apple’s iPad. It will come in two versions, the Surface RT and the Surface Windows 8 Pro, with the main difference being that the Pro can run a full version of Windows 8. One of the most interesting features is the cover that also functions as a Keyboard.

Alec Baldwin Gets Marriage License, Then Punches Man In The Face

Alec Baldwin, who is planning to get married June 30th, went to get his marriage license with his fiancé today, when a paparazzi came too close to the 30 Rock Actor. Alec Baldwin then proceeded to punch the paparazzi in his face. While the incident was photographed, his lawyers have since asked several websites to remove the pictures, which is why you know see a picture of nice-guy Alec Baldwin with a baby instead.

Online Sex-Trafficking Could Destroy The Internet

Backpage.com, an online classified ad service, similar to Craigslist.org, is used to run the majority of online sex-trafficking. This has caused several lawsuits and investigations and even a new law in Washington, that would not only force Backpage.com to police every post made to the site, but could potentially be a threat to websites like Twitter, Youtube and Wikipedia. According to Section 230 of the federal Communications Decency Act, companies are not responsible for content that is posted by third parties, something that the new bill is planning to change.

Hero Has His Car Stolen While Saving a Girl’s Life

When a Russian businessman witnessed a crash and saw a car plunge into the river, he did not hesitate, left his own car and jumped in the water to help. While unable to safe the driver, he managed to save a young woman’s life. However, while he was being a hero, a thief saw the man’s unattended car and stole it. The $92,000 Audi SUV had the Russians ID, clothes and apartment key in it, leaving the hero stranded.

Apple Store Won’t Sell You Anything If They Hear You Speaking Farsi

Sahar Sabet, a 19-year old American citizen, was refused an iPad at an Apple Store in Georgia, when an employee overheard her talking Farsi to a friend. After hearing that they were from Iran, he told them that he could not sell them anything, because “our countries have bad relations”. This appears to be official policy, as another customer has come forward reporting a similar story from a different store. It did not matter that she was planning on using the iPad in the US and if she had not spoken a foreign language in the store, no one would have known and she could have purchased the iPad.
